Police in Ormond Beach, Florida, have found two missing children who were last seen with their mother.

Police were looking for River Shelton, 1, and Serenity Shelton, 4, who were last seen at the Econo Lodge in Ormond Beach. Police on Sunday afternoon said the children were safe but did not release further information, WFTV reported.

Earlier, the Florida Department of Children and Families said an order to take the children into state custody was issued due to the parents' attempts to avoid meeting with the agency.

The children’s parents are Chasity Shelton and Eric Ely.
