Mother charged in toddler’s death allowed to visit funeral home

The mother charged with permitting child abuse in the death of her 2-year-old was able to visit her daughter before her funeral, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Kinsley Kinner was beaten to death Dec. 1, allegedly by Bradley Young, 26, her mother’s boyfriend at their Radabaugh Road home in Madison Twp.

Young is charged murder and felonious assault. Rebecca Kinner, Kinsley’s mother, allegedly did nothing to stop the assault and is charged with permitting child abuse, a first-degree felony.

Rebecca Kinner, who is pregnant with a child due in February, was taken to Anderson Funeral Home in Springboro on Tuesday before visitation services for Kinsley and was permitted to see her privately, said Butler County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Mike Craft.

“She was there alone,” Craft said, noting Rebecca Kinner had expressed an interest in going to the visitation but the sheriff’s office told her they could not accommodate that request.

Craft said they have done the same in similar situations with prisoners in the past.

Both Rebecca Kinner and Young are housed in the Butler County Jail.

Young's attorney says he is "investigating other people who might be responsible" for the child's fatal injuries.

“That could be family, friends and acquaintances. We are tracking down every lead and every rumor,” said Frank Schiavone IV.
