INITIAL REPORT, March 7:
Middletown police charged four people following a police pursuit Monday, then arrested two more after a search of an apartment in the city.
All six suspects are from Middletown, were charged with drug-related crimes and some had arrest warrants from local police agencies, said Middletown police Lt. Jimmy Cunningham.
The four charged after the pursuit on Interstate 75 were:
- Sammy Miller, 30, drug abuse methamphetamine, warrant City of Franklin, warrant Middletown and obstructing official business
- Rachel Bunch, 28, drug abuse methamphetamine, drug abuse instruments, warrant Hamilton County, tampering with evidence, and obstructing official business
- Amanda Hines, 29, warrant Clermont County and drug abuse methamphetamine
- Steve Skalley, 50, warrant Butler County, drug paraphernalia, fleeing and alluding police and numerous traffic violations
Police found crystal methamphetamine in the SUV. More crystal methamphetamine was recovered on Interstate 75 after it was thrown from the fleeing vehicle, Cunningham said.
After these arrests, police conducted a search Monday night of an apartment in the 600 block of Layette Avenue.
Two people were charged after that search:
- Tanya Petry, 30, drug abuse paraphernalia
- William Warren, 37, warrant Warren County, drug abuse methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia
Miller, Bunch, Petry and Warren are scheduled to appear Wednesday in Middletown Minicipal Court. All but Hines are still in the Middletown City Jail, records show.
