The new facility — Premier Health Monroe Medical Center Office Building — will aim to provide patients from Monroe and the surrounding communities a single point of multidisciplinary services close to home, according to Diane Pleiman, president of Premier Physician Network.
She said the health care will be “streamlined, comprehensive and, above all else, easy to access.”

Relocating to the site in Monroe Medical Center is a practice that includes Drs. Dyrk Van Valkenburg, Maurice Swanson, Joe Burghard, Christopher Eppley and nurse practitioner Tricia Neu.
Also at the Monroe site, Premier Orthopedics will open a satellite location, one that will include Dr. Richard Davis II, who is fellowship trained in hip and knee replacements. Premier Orthopedics operates 13 locations around Southwest Ohio with 26 physicians serving patients in comprehensive sports medicine and orthopedic care.
When fully staffed, the Monroe location will have more than 20 employees with six of those positions being new, said Mary Boosalis, president and CEO of Premier Health.
She said Premier is “committed for the longterm” to the Monroe community.

Premier, with $1.7 billion in revenue, is the largest private employer in the region and operates Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton and Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy and a large physician and outpatient network.
In the past month or so, the health care system opened a medical office building in Liberty Twp. and broke ground for medical office buildings in Vandalia and Beavercreek.
“What you’re seeing Premier do is have more locations where we can consolidate within reason, but not necessarily always be adding patient beds because … the movement is to do more and more health care outside of the hospital walls, in outpatient settings, in offices, often with one-stop shop, and even more so where you’re going to see growth is home care,” Boosalis said.
The four locations will have 150 employees, with about 25 percent of them being new hires, according to Anita Moore, chair of Premier Health Board of Trustees. That’s “indicative of the growth” that Premier Health continues to see across its service area, she said.
“The expansion allows us to better serve our friends and neighbors in and near Monroe,” Moore said.
