“Liberty Twp. has been growing over the past decade and we were realizing that we had this big service area population that we weren’t actually covering effectively with a brick and mortar site,” according to Travis Bautz, MidPointe Library’s director.
Library system officials said they were thrilled when Liberty Center approached them with the opportunity to set up shop inside The Foundry, Liberty Center’s indoor shopping mall.
The 3,681-square-foot library was slated to feature 5,000 items available for check out but more were added and that number is now closer to 10,000 thanks to “creative shelving arrangements,” Bautz said.
The new library branch features on-site programming, WiFi, public computers with Internet access, the ability to reserve items for checkout and more.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. The Liberty Twp. branch is closed on Mondays.
