Middletown woman killed walking on Butler County road

A woman was killed Friday when she was hit by a car along a St. Clair Twp. road.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. in the 5100 block of Augspurger Road, according to Butler County Sheriff’s Sgt. Melissa Gerhardt.

Wanda Vanbuskirk, 55, of Middletown was hit by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Witnesses said Vanbuskirk was walking on the road, Gerhardt said.

Vanbuskirk died of multiple traumatic injuries and her death has been ruled an accident, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

The accident remains under investigation. Gerhardt did not have the name of the driver of the vehicle.
