Middletown water main break repaired, but road remains closed to fix pavement

Unlike other water main breaks, this one did not affect water service to the nearby residences as water crews were able to shut down the valves near that section of pipe, he said.

Scott Tadych, public works and utilities director, said it may take until Friday to reopen the road to traffic due to the amount of pavement that needs to be repaired. Tadych said that section of the water main was installed in 1951 and said the weather changes and ground shifting may have been the cause of the water main break.

Detours have been posted.
