Here is the text of the letter:
Dear Mr. DeNiro,
This morning I saw the news that you had entered the stage of the Tonys last night and said “F#*@ Trump.”
Using that type of language and candor one can only believe that you have a great disgust for our president. It amazes me that we live in a day and age where we believe that disgrace is the tool that we can use to make our point.
Whether Democrat, Republican or Independent we all agree that we as Americans live in a great nation which affords us so many wonderful opportunities. I’m sure that you have enjoyed many successes through your career as an actor in Hollywood.
I would submit to you that while we can disagree with our president we can choose not to go the route of disgrace. The office of the president of the United States is one that is to be honored even if we do not agree with the political decisions they make.
I have enjoyed many of your movies and the work that you have done as an actor and I’m wondering if your words last night at the Tonys were your True Confessions. I don’t know if you’ve ever sat down with President Donald Trump but maybe for you this has become a Grudge Match with a person you consider The Wizard of Lies. As you Analyze This maybe this is considered a Righteous Kill or an opportunity to bring the Heat because actors are considered part of The Untouchables of our society.
I would respectfully ask you to look at the Limitless Awakening’s that are taking place in our world within the Mean Streets. After last night you may think Everyone’s Fine but there are many people looking to you for encouragement, hope and Joy. I understand that we all can be so passionate about something that it can unleash a Raging Bull and shroud an Angel Heart.
Mr. DeNiro I wish you all the best and trust that you would consider The Mission of offering disagreement in open dialogue without disgrace. All of us will hand off the baton of legacy one day and I desire to be apart of a ring of Goodfellas and Men of Honor not a Dirty Grandpa.
Thanks so much for even taking time to read this letter and who knows one day I may get to Meet The Fockers. Till then I will strive to be The Good Shepherd to my family and community!!
Respectfully,
L. Lamar Ferrell
