Middletown man dies after vehicle slams into house

Coroner: He was transported to Atrium Medical Center where he died Sunday night.

MIDDLETOWN — The last of three vehicles struck Sunday night in Middletown crashed into a house in the 1000 block of Oxford State Road, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

William “Bill” Miller, 58, of Middletown, was transported from the crash to Atrium Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:40 p.m., according to the Warren County Coroner’s Office. His death was ruled an accident.

The house on Oxford State Road sustained major damage, according to Butler County Sgt. Steve Poff. No one was home at the time of the crash, he said.

The first crash was reported at 6:34 p.m. at the intersection of Oxford State Road and Verity Parkway, Poff said. A 2021 Ram 1500, driven by the 36-year-old woman at-fault driver, hit a 2020 Toyota Camry.

The Ram 1500 then struck a 2022 Honda Civic near Oxford State and Jackson Street, Poff said.

The Ram 1500, then traveling at high speed, hit a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Miller, near Judy Drive.

Poff said alcohol and drugs don’t appear to be factors in the crash that remains under investigation.

The drivers of the Toyota, Honda and Ram suffered minor injuries, Poff said. Two children in the Ram were uninjured, he said.
