A black Miami University female student was the target of a racist social media post after a video was posted Monday by a white female student from the Ohio State University chiding her for engaging in interracial dating, according to a Daily Mail report.

Katelyn Rust, a sophomore at OSU, reportedly made a recording of herself — directing it to her ex-boyfriend and posted it on her Twitter account. She was upset because he was seen dancing with a black woman, reports the Daily Mail.

The message, which has been deleted according the OSU student newspaper The Lantern and the Daily Mail, stated “F… yourself, you’re hooking up with a black girl, that’s weird.”

Screenshots of the Twitter post, which went viral, were captured by the Daily Mail and shows Rust’s statement on her account.

The message was addressed by Miami first-year student Aleigha Mason, who was the female that Rust saw her ex-boyfriend dancing with.

“It’s crazy that racism still exists here,” Mason posted on her Twitter account in response to Rust’s post. “Can’t believe that the color of my skin is weird.”

She told The Lantern student newspaper that, “I danced with her ex-boyfriend and for what I understand that’s why she made that video.”

Rust is a Pi Beta Phi sorority member at OSU and the Greek organization on campus was quick to denounce her Twitter remarks.

“The Panhellenic Association at the Ohio State University would like to apologize to those affected by the recent video that has been brought to our attention,” the organization said in a written statement. “The words and actions of the individual (Rust) do not represent the Panhellenic community’s values or beliefs.”

Rust issued an apology through The Lantern, saying, “first and foremost racism is wrong.”

Mason went on her Twitter account and thanked people for supporting. She also deleted Rust’s video which she had posted to her account.
