Morgan advised the man he could not be in the street and walked him toward the curb. The suspect began running. Morgan caught up to the man after a short foot chase. The suspect began tussling the officer who was trying to get him handcuffed, and police canine Chase was released from the back of the cruiser.

The man then allegedly continued to struggle with the police K-9.
According to the Middletown Division of Police Facebook post from Morgan, “Chase had to help me deal with a guy … during the encounter, Chase was punched, kicked and a one point the guy tried to choke him. Chase handled his business!”
Alexander Comer, 24, is charged with assault (harassment of a police dog), resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to Birk. He is housed in the Middletown City Jail.
According to the Facebook post, “Chase and dad are safe at home.”
