“The Aloft brand focuses on having a vibrant social scene, including offering live music, while also being tech friendly,” said Shawn Stidham, director of sales for the Butler County Visitors Bureau.
“Those elements, combined with the benefits that come from being part of the Marriott family, will make Aloft a welcome addition to the Butler County hotel community.”

The 116-room hotel, which is the brand’s first in southwest Ohio, was built on a two-acre site at the corner of Centre Pointe Drive and Muhlhauser Road that formerly was home to El Coyote restaurant. It’s not the only hotel chain to turn to Butler County as its first option in the state or region.
Under construction and scheduled to open in 2020 is a 95-room avid Hotel at 8927 Lakota Drive West in West Chester Twp., the first for that hotel brand in Ohio. Also coming next year is Hyatt House’s first Ohio location, a 98,040-square-foot, 156-room extended stay hotel under construction to 7800 Liberty Field Drive in West Chester Twp.
In 2016, Liberty Twp. welcomed a four-story extended-stay hotel Home2Suite by Hilton at 7145 Liberty Centre Drive, the first Ohio location of that brand.
The new hotels are distinctly different, Stidham said.
“With enhances in technology and the evolution of travel preferences, guests are beginning to expect more customized experiences tailored to their individual needs,” he said. “As a result travel brands are beginning to offer more variety in accommodation concepts to specifically target travelers in different niches. Each new hotel brand is a direct response to this emerging trend.”

Aloft hotels, for example, says it is “clean, contemporary architecture houses open spaces that are alive with activity.”
“The Re:mix lounge and pool table set the stage for innovative programming and can’t-miss events,” the brand says on its fact sheet. “Loft-like guestrooms, a vibrant social scene anchored by the WXYZ bar, Re:fuel café and industrial design elements set Aloft apart from its competitors.”
Stidham said the continued development of hotels in Butler County is a testament to the strong corporate business base, further development of tourism-related venues and attractions, surrounding amenities, and proximity to the interstate and major metropolitan areas of Cincinnati and Dayton.
“All of these factors combine to make Butler County highly desirable for both business and leisure travelers,” Stidham said. “Investors see that dynamic mix and bring new concepts in to diversify the offerings to capture a piece of the strong local travel market.”
