Service in West Carrollton area restored; DP&L crew repairs power line

UPDATE @ 12:16 a.m. (Nov. 13): The damaged line on Infirmary Road has been repaired and service has been restored as the DP&L online outage map is showing no outages in the West Carrollton area.

UPDATE @ 10:37 p.m. (Nov. 12):

DP&L crews located the downed power line on Infirmary Road that’s causing the West Carrollton area outage and they are working to make the necessary repairs, company spokesman Rob Beeler said.

The crews are repairing a switch so they can isolate and repair the damaged parts of the downed line, he said.

It's a medium-voltage distribution line and the crews are working also to determine what happened to it.

Beeler said police told him they had no reports of any vehicle accidents in the area.

According to the DP&L online outage page, the crews are estimating that power will be restored by 11 p.m.

INITIAL REPORT

At least 1,359 Dayton Power & Light customers in the West Carrollton area are without power tonight, according to the company's online outage map.

Customers began reporting outages about 8:20 p.m. DP&L is estimating that service will be restored about 10 p.m.

We're hearing there may be power lines down in the area of Infirmary and Farmersville West Carrollton roads. We're also hearing of a power surge in at least one firehouse.

Law enforcement officers are asking that Soldiers Home West Carrollton Road be closed at Farmersville West Carrollton Road until further notice.
