As soon as this week, officials may announce a new restaurant that plans to occupy the building where Quarter Barrel Brewery + Pub briefly occupied.

Hamilton’s Community Improvement Corporation was told Monday that the non-profit CORE (Consortium for Ongoing Reinvestment Efforts) Fund was discussing final lease terms with the chosen entity.

Of five companies that applied, three were chosen as finalists for further discussions. Officials have said they would be happy with any of them.

City Economic Development Director Jody Gunderson described the winning entity as “a company that owns multiple restaurants already.”

The company hopes to open at 103 Main St., which has rooftop-dining possibilities with views of the Great Miami River and Hamilton’s downtown, in July or August.
