Those who enjoy grab-and-go comfort food will be happy to hear about a new restaurant coming to Butler County

West Side Little League coach Ken Coomer will open Chick’n Cone at The Marcum in Hamilton in late August.

The chicken-and-waffle cone combo restaurant will be located at 134 Riverfront Plaza, next to The Casual Pint.

The menu at Chick’n Cone is straightforward: a Chick’n Cone meal includes fork-free chicken-and-waffles with a sauce, Cajun Fries and a drink.

Sauce options include Cinna-Maple (classic chicken and waffles maple syrup), Traditional BBQ (sweet barbecue sauce, Yella BBQ (tangy, mustard-based barbecue sauce), Kick’n Ranch (mildly spicy ranch sauce), Buffalo Blue (spicy wing sauce with a hint of blue cheese) and Peri Peri (South African chili sauce).

The menu also offers a la carte options for the chicken-and-waffle meal with sauce, cajun fries and drinks.

The 1,400-square-foot Hamilton restaurant also will offer beer by the can or on tap, margaritas and soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone or in a dish, Coomer said.

Coomer told the Journal-News he is opening a new location of fast-food chain Chick’n Cone because of its unique pairing of the two main ingredients in a different way and with french fries and a variety of sauces.

“I understand people have chicken and waffles, but this is chicken and waffles with a different flavor,” he said.

The new Chick’n Cone will employ between eight and 12 full- and part-time employees, Coomer said.
