The two-day event will be held at Rentschler Forest on Friday, Aug. 4, and Saturday, Aug. 5. Participants may sign up in advance online or register the day of the event. Guests of all ages participate, from children to their parents and grandparents.
Mud Mania will feature a variety of mud-themed events, such as a mud slide on the hill that leads into in a mud pit, mud pools, a Mud Obstacle Course and a Little Mudders area for younger children.
The mud volleyball has also been expanded this year into a Mud Volleyball Tournament.
There will also be other nonmud related children’s games and activities.
MetroParks included a mud volleyball area in last year’s event without an organized tournament.
“Mud competitions/sports are very popular right now, and this helps to offer that even more. There are still plenty of spots in the tournament to enter a team,” Barkley said.
Durable shoes are required. Flip-flops or bare feet will not be permitted. Guests may also want to bring a change of clothing. Participants ages 18 and younger will be required to have a parent or legal guardian’s signature to be admitted, and participants of all ages will need to sign a waiver/hold harmless release form prior to participation.
