Hamilton is part of a living legend’s swan song.

Scenes for the “Old Man and The Gun,” reportedly actor Robert Redford’s last film, were filmed in Hamilton, Cincinnati and Dayton in 2017.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Redford said he is ending his six-decade career.

Redford told the magazine:

“Never say never, but I pretty well concluded that this would be it for me in terms of acting, and [I’ll] move towards retirement after this ’cause I’ve been doing it since I was 21. I thought, Well, that’s enough. And why not go out with something that’s very upbeat and positive?”

Redford plays Forrest Tucker, a real-life bank robber in “Old Man and the Gun.”

Fox Searchlight is set to release the film, which also stars Danny Glover, Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek, on Oct. 5.

The former Fifth Third Bank in downtown Hamilton as well as the First Financial Bank and a stretch of High Street were used for the film.

A gas station and the Midway Theater in Bethel (southeast of Cincinnati) were also used in the movie.

Parts of downtown Dayton were also used.
