In addition, she said, an expanded pharmacy with new consultation and waiting rooms are now available for customer convenience and new check lanes and self-checkout machines have been added.
“This investment is a result of the input we’ve received from our customers on what they would like to see at their neighborhood Kroger,” Leesemann said.
Throughout the renovations the 14-year-old store never closed, she said.
Leesemann said the improvements make the Kroger the “one-stop shopping destination” for many surrounding areas. The two closest Kroger locations are in Monroe and by the Towne Mall, she said.
The grand re-opening begins at 8 a.m. Thursday and the first 300 customers will receive a $10 Kroger gift card and, throughout the weekend, the first 300 customers each day will receive coupons for a free specially-selected product.
Kroger will present several organizations with checks totaling more than $55,000 to help in the fight against breast cancer and hunger, she said.
Cassandra Robinson, the store manager, will present a $1,000 check to Middletown High School following the band’s performance.
Special activities and appearances will take place throughout re-grand opening weekend, Robinson said.
“My team and I are excited to show our investment in the store and share all the new updates and improvements with customers during our re-grand opening,” she said. “We look forward to continuing to serve our loyal customers and to meeting many new ones.”
