Victims ID’d in double fatal crash on Sunday in Madison Twp.

Two Middletown women were killed in a Sunday night crash in Madison Twp.

Emergency units were dispatched about 6:30 p.m. to Ohio 122 and Elk Creek Road for a two-vehicle crash. Two people in one vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, and another passenger of that vehicle was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by medical helicopter.

Fransheskaly Burgos Colon, 28, and Paoly Sierra Ferreras, 19, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their deaths were ruled an accident by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. A third female, Angelica Suriel, 23, of Florida, was transported by medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital, where she remained hospitalized on Monday afternoon.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Toyota Yaris driven by Burgos Colon was traveling south on Elk Creek when it failed to yield at the stop sign at Ohio 122 and pulled into the path of a pickup truck driven by Terry Banks, 51, of Middletown-Oxford Road. Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch at the intersection.

Banks suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.

The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating. Sgt. Steven Poff said alcohol is believed to be a factor for the driver of the at-fault vehicle.

The crash and investigation shut down the area for several hours.
