Pyramid Hill’s gorgeous sculptures are about to sparkle.

Holiday Lights on the Hill, a 2-mile, round-trip drive-through holiday lights display, will open for the season on Nov. 22, 2019.

Pyramid Hill sculpture park is partnering for the second  year with the creators of BLINK Cincinnati to add light projections. The partnership between Pyramid Hill and Brave Berlin began last year with a synchronized display that wrapped the exterior of pavilion with animation.

Think of this as a sneak peek into a much bigger collaboration launching in 2020.

Brave Berlin will create an innovative projection-mapped sculptural installation inside the pavilion.

Plans are also under way for both groups to introduce “Journey Borealis” in 2020.

“This year’s light display management and implementation will be a connecting step between the previous years’ programming and next; with all of the successes and progress we made this year, we are excited to launch Borealis in 2020 as a world-class holiday event,” said Sean FitzGibbons, executive director of Pyramid Hill.

Holiday Lights on the Hill at Pyramid Hill, a tradition for more than 20 years, will offer guests a holiday light experience that brings art and nature together in the 300-acre sculpture park. Each year, the display offers something new and different to highlight the sculptures, gardens and trees.

Hamilton’s popular drive-through light display will be open nightly from Friday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Jan. 5. The attraction will open at 6 p.m. daily.

“This year, we will be 100 percent LED lights, cutting the energy draw way down, so that’s a great thing for us as far as going green,” FitzGibbons said.

A few of the display’s big hits that will return include decorated ponds with swans, an ice-skating pond with a sequence of skaters that light up with doves overhead.

“I’m looking forward to the full experience of going through the 2.5 miles. The entire thing is going to be pretty spectacular,” he said.

In the drive-through display, visitors can expect to see light displays close to the road with gardens of light as well as those that go further and deeper into the park’s background and surrounding lakes.

As a non-profit organization, Pyramid Hill’s Holiday Lights on the Hill is a major winter fundraiser for the park. Funds help maintain the 300-plus acre outdoor sculpture park and the Ancient Sculpture Museum. On average, an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 guests visit the annual attraction.
