MORE: Suspect in 3 Warren County robberies to be extradited from Indiana
From 2016 to 2019, Lunsford robbed three Peoples Bank locations in Franklin, Springboro, and Carlisle. Lunsford walked into the banks and handed a note to the bank tellers stating this was a robbery and demanding money.
Bank surveillance cameras captured all of the robberies, however, Lunsford was not able to be identified at the time of the incidents, according to a release from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation into the robberies remained ongoing, and police were ultimately able to locate the vehicle Lunsford drove during the robberies.
The vehicle contained the same clothing Lunsford wore during the robberies and a note similar to the ones given to the tellers, according to the release. Lunsford was located in Indiana and extradited back to Ohio to face these charges.
In addition to the prison sentence, Lunsford was ordered to pay back $13,942 in restitution to Peoples Bank.
“This investigation is a prime example of the ongoing collaboration we see on a regular basis from our local law enforcement agencies,” Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell said in the release. “Because of that collaboration, the identity of the robber was ultimately ascertained, and we were able to hold Lunsford accountable for these robberies.”
