Life has returned to the former Ohio Casualty complex, which once housed more than 1,000 insurance employees but went into a long-term shutdown July 23, 2010, when the last employees moved out, leaving for Liberty Mutual Group offices in Fairfield.

Last week’s move by 33 students at Miami University Hamilton was the latest step for the project, now called Third + Dayton.

What else is going inside? Here’s a look floor by floor:

Floors 1 through 5: To be determined. The spaces may be used for offices, more housing, even a hotel, with spaces for shops that face the street another possibility.

6th Floor: Will have 26 one-bedroom apartments for the Work + program, with full kitchens, housing 52 students.

7th Floor: Has 16 two-bedroom apartments, each with two beds per apartment, for Miami University's English-immersion program. By Miami's second semester, 64 students could be living there.

8th Floor: Will soon have market-rate apartments available to the general public, featuring great views of the city. There will be 24 one-bedroom apartments and 4 two-bedroom units. Those should be available around the end of the year.

Also up for sale or lease is a four-story building across the street with four levels of 20,000 square feet.
