Girl struck by truck in downtown Hamilton, police seeking suspect

A teenage girl was struck by a pickup truck in Hamilton’s central business district today, and police are searching for the driver who sped off.

The girl was hit by a red pickup truck at 12:12 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and High Street, said Hamilton Police Sgt. Rich Burkhardt.

She was taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

According to police, the driver of truck yelled at a witness the girl was struck.

Police later found the truck in the 600 block of Heaton Street and are continuing their search for the driver as they investigate the incident.
