Fink was born on June 10, 1938 in Wellston, Ohio, nearly 150 miles east of Butler County. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1956 and started with the Fairfield Police Department in 1962.
He married his wife, Elsie, on April 18, 1981. They have six children: Chuck Fink, Delores Fink, Jimmy Fink, John Fink, Leslie Fredricks, and Laurie Gerhardt. They also have 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Fink, a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Fink, and five siblings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Webster Funeral Home, 3080 Homeward Way, Fairfield. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mentor Baptist Church, 3724 Smith Road, California, Ky. with the Rev. Barry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Grand View Cemetery in Kentucky.
