Gilligan said the Middletown location will be their 29th Dunkin’ location in the Cincinnati/Dayton region.
According to city building permit application, the renovation project was estimated at $250,000 to convert the one-story, 1,915-square-foot building at 1300 S. Breiel Blvd. which formerly housed a Marco’s Pizza store.
As of late July, there were nearly 300 “next generation design” Dunkin’ locations of the nearly 9,000 operating across the nation, according to Don Auer, Dunkin’ operations manager.
The Middletown location will feature new digital technology, a digital menu board, mobile ordering drive-through. It will also feature a new tap system that will be able to dispense several types of coffee, such as Nitro Coffee, Cold Brew, Iced Coffee and Iced Tea, as well as limited time flavors.
“It will have a brighter, more contemporary interior for our guests who are on the go,” he said. “The doughnut cases will be up front for customers to see like a jewelry counter.”
The parcel was purchased May 22 by Gilligan Company’s real estate group in Cincinnati for $700,000, according to the Butler County Auditor’s Office website.
Gilligan Company was founded in 1993 in Columbus and employs more than 900 people in Ohio, operating more than 75 convenience stores and quick-service restaurants as well as transporting more than 200 million gallons of fuel annually to its customers, according to its website.
