A DNA analysis on the human remains found at a property off Hemple Road in September have confirmed the remains are those of Michelle Burgan, a woman reported missing from Middletown in 2017, according to investigators.

Gilbert Todd Revere, 57, was indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury in September on two counts of tampering with evidence, one count of gross abuse of a corpse, and one count of failure to report knowledge of a death, court records show.

Authorities said the remains of Burgan, 47, were discovered behind Revere’s home on Hemple Road, according to investigators.

“I think everybody’s stress levels are pretty high. Just knowing finally we can wrap things up and know that Michelle is back with us and we can finally get closure after 17 months,” said William Morgan, Burgan’s brother.

Charges filed in Kettering Municipal Court are dated back to May 16, 2017, the day Burgan was reported missing in Middletown.

Revere’s next court date is scheduled in January, records show.
