Time is running out to see adorable baby animals at the Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has been celebrating adorable babies throughout the month.

But all good things must come to an end. This holiday weekend is the last weekend to see the special zoo babies exhibit. The final day for zoo babies will be Friday, May 31.

The zoo is also kicking off it summer extended hours this weekend. From May 25 to Sept. 2, the zoo will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Zoo members and Adventure Ticket holders can enter at 9 a.m.

Whether it’s a toddler we already know and love like 2-year-old Fiona the hippopotamus, or newborn fuzzy penguin chicks, there are dozens of young animals to see during Zoo Babies month.

“No question that baby animals are adorable, but they’re also great ambassadors for their species,” Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard said. “They can inspire visitors to care about their wild counterparts and take action to protect them.”

 

Young colobus monkeys, a tamandua, Guam rails and other rare birds, along with reptiles and insects are among the babies at the zoo. When visiting keep an eye out for the 6-foot-tall stork signs that mark the spots where babies can be found.

Zoo Babies run through May 31 and is free with regular zoo admission.
