Crews battling fire in West Chester Twp., firefighters told to get out of house

West Chester Twp. fire crews are the scene of a fire on 5900 block of Old Forest Lane this afternoon.

Emergency dispatch traffic indicates the fire was visible through the roof, and all crews were told to get out of the structure. The owner is out of the house, said township spokeswoman Barb Wilson.

A fire investigation team has also been requested to report there. Multiple firefighters were being treated for heat exhaustion at the scene, Wilson said.

Neighboring departments are also sending crews to the scene.
