A Butler County restaurant recently shut its doors after more than a decade in business.

Troy’s Cafe and Catering in West Chester Twp. announced that it was closing on Friday “after 10+ years dedicating hard work and love for food to service the greater Cincinnati area,” according to a post on Facebook.

The business at 4877 Smith Road noted that “unfortunately running a small business comes with its challenges.”

"We gave it a great run and made a lot of friends and happy faces along the way," the post says. "We appreciate everyone who came out and enjoyed our hidden gem of a restaurant. Thank you for everything."

The restaurant was founded in 2007 by Chef Troy Meyers, who opened a second location in Mason in 2014. Meyers closed that location in April and announced in August that he would no longer have an ownership interest in the West Chester restaurant.
