Curtus Moak (right), pastor at Hamilton Christian Center, will join other area pastor in a prayer event aimed at helping people work through their anger about the presidential election.

Twelve local pastors say the time is now to begin healing a divided nation.

The group of pastors are organizing a “Prayer and Discipleship Event” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton Glendale Road, Liberty Twp.

“Nearly 30 area multi-denominational churches will be participating,” said one of the co-organizers, Pastor Curtus Moak. ” This is rare and in our divided state in America — a beacon of light in a dark world.”

Moak said he has sent invitations to many area churches, asking them to participate in the conference.

A long, contentious presidential campaign has led Ohio to become more of a battleground between people than a battleground for the candidates, according to Moak, who is pastor at Hamilton Christian Center.

“In a time in which our nation is so divided, it’s great to see Christ’s church is united,” he said.

Moak hopes the Nov. 12 event will help people refocus on the bigger picture after the election, while reminding people that hating someone because of their politics is not the right way to live.

“Every Sunday we emphasize a relationship with Jesus. We feel he is the ultimate example of love, peace and fulfillment in this life. This is something that we need in America today,” Moak said.

Pastor Mike Pearl, of Hamilton, said the event will go a long way in helping people deal with anger issues surrounding the 2016 election season.

“This event is worthwhile for all of those who love the Lord and wish to strengthen their walk with Him. And the more people we get praying the better our society will be,” he said.
