Speaking today at the NAACP National Convention in Cincinnati, Sen. Sherrod Brown said "attention must be paid to the disparity between African-American men and women and their white counterparts and the racism that deepens those discrepancies."

Brown, D-Ohio, told the crowd that “we must acknowledge that too many young black men are being taught … that they must put their hands up when they see police instead of being encouraged to raise their hands in the classroom.”
