Some of those focus areas include opportunities and experiences for foodies, happy hour, adventure seekers, family fun, art and culture; and the great outdoors.
Middletown is also the home of Ohio’s first Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area that allows people to drink and stroll around the downtown area with an alcoholic beverage from a designated establishment between noon and midnight seven days a week.

Ohio Challenge Balloon Festival: Southwest Ohio's most popular balloon festival, is taking place July 19-20 at Smith Park.
Women, Wine & Chocolate Walk: An annual walk held each spring where women can enjoy more than 20 wine and chocolate tasting stations. This year's event was sold out as it drew more than 1,100 people in May.
Hops in the Hangar: One of Ohio's most unique craft beer tasting in a hangar at Middletown Regional Airport. This year's event is Aug. 10 and will feature 80 beers to choose from 30 different breweries. Patrons will be able to chose 15 beers to sample and there will be food trucks available to purchase something to eat.
Pickleball Tournament: Aug. 1-3 marks the 12th Annual Middletown Senior Pickleball Tournament where 240 players have already registered. In 2018, the tournament drew 225 players from 11 states. The event is held on the 16 pickleball courts at Lefferson Park.
Middletown Spring Blast and Midfest Soccer Classic Tournaments: Annual Middletown Spring Blast weekend youth soccer tournaments for boys and girls ages U9 to U18 in the spring. The games are held at Smith Park as well as at Franklin Community Park and Monroe Crossings Parks. The Midfest Soccer Classic Tournament is for players U9 to U15 on Sept. 21-22 at Smith Park.
