Officers on the scene were able to get the suspect, Christian Hebenstreit, 23, to come out of the building. Hebenstreit told police that there was another suspect with a gun in the building.
Monroe officers, assisted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Middletown, Trenton and Mason police departments responded to the scene to establish a perimeter around the building.
The second suspect, Jonathan K. Roberts, 32, refused to comply with commands to exit the building. This resulted in officers from West Chester and Hamilton SWAT units to respond to assist with the situation.
West Chester SWAT made entry into the building and encountered Roberts, who surrendered without incident.
Hebenstreit and Roberts were both charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.
Both men are being held in the Warren County Jail under $10,000 cash bonds each. They are scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings at 2 p.m. Nov. 14 in Lebanon Municipal Court.
