“We are happy to welcome these individuals to the West Chester Fire Department as they embark on the first steps along the path to a potential career in the fulfilling field of emergency services and public safety,” Fire Chief Rick Prinz said.
Part-time personnel are used to supplement West Chester’s core career staff of firefighters/EMTs in order to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the community.
The West Chester Fire Department continuously seeks excellent individuals for these positions, Prinz said. Many departments in southwest Ohio experience turnover in part-time staff.
West Chester Fire Department maintains a complement of 73 part-time firefighter/EMT positions and is always accepting applications.
Part-time firefighters start at an hourly rate of $16.25 per hour.
