A student was removed from a Hamilton school Wednesday after allegedly making a threat of violence.

In a message sent out to parents, Wilson Middle School Principal Jon Szary said a male student had been caught issuing a threat against the Butler County school.

“I wanted to update you about a situation that happened today as our district is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for our students. The administration was informed that a student made a verbal threat in school today. With the help of our School Resource Officer, we investigated and the appropriate discipline was followed with the student,” wrote Szary.

“At no time were students or staff in danger, and instruction continued without interruption,” he said.

Joni Copas, spokeswoman for the city schools, said no weapon was involved in the threat incident and said the student will not be in school Thursday.
