According to a statement from Lakota Schools Superintendent Matt Miller, counselors are also open to seeing school parents if they need therapeutic assistance.
“We are deeply saddened by this unexpected tragedy and share our deepest condolences with the student’s family and friends,” said Miller in a statement shared with the Liberty Junior School community.
“Lakota Schools has a Crisis Intervention Team made up of counselors and other trained professionals to help with the needs of students, parents and school personnel at difficult times such as these. Our school counselors are joined by our mental health therapist from Solutions Counseling and our partners from Companions on a Journey.
“During this very difficult time, our focus is on supporting the family, as well as our students and staff, who are grieving this loss.”
