Grief counselors were at Kings Schools Friday in the aftermath of the death of a student.

“It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community,” Superintendent Tim Ackermann said in a notice sent out to school families.

“On Thursday Kings High School Freshman Allen Angel passed away. We are respecting the family’s privacy … His loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students.”

Dawn Gould, spokeswoman for the Warren County school system, said “we are respecting the family’s request for privacy regarding the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.”

Ackermann said a “crisis intervention team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this. We have counselors available for any student who may need or want help or any type of assistance surrounding this loss.”

“If you need additional information or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school counselor,” he said.
