First look at new Fairfield High School basketball court

Athletes and other students at Fairfield High School will be playing on a upgraded gym floor this coming school year.

A re-finished gym floor now has new colors and designs in the Butler County school, which sports one of the largest sports-seating capacities among all Southwest Ohio high schools.

The district, which is finishing up a historic, $80 million construction project, will see two new elementary schools and a new freshman school open in early September.

The district will soon begin demolishing its old freshman school and central elementary.

Classes at Fairfield Schools will be starting later than normal for the 2017-2018 school year due to the construction.

Usually classes start in mid-to-late August, but for the coming school year they will begin Sept. 5.
