A Fairfield schools bus driver has been ordered on leave as police investigate allegations she assaulted a elementary student.

Fairfield schools officials said Fairfield police are investigating one of its school bus drivers for unspecified allegations.

According to a police incident report, the female student attends Central Elementary in the Butler County district. The girl’s parents reported to police on May 3 “their daughter was assaulted by a known female while in the parking lot of Central Elementary.”

The alleged assault was reported by the girl’s parents to Fairfield Police Officer Jacob Sons at approximately 4:40 p.m. on May 3.

“The matter is being investigated by the Fairfield Police Department and the bus driver has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation. I have no additional comment at this time,” said Fairfield Schools Superintendent Billy Smith.
