2018 election: Land of Illusion denied Sunday alcohol sales

Only one of the four local liquor options on Tuesday’s ballot in Butler County failed.

Land of Illusion owners had been hoping to get a liquor option approved by Madison Twp. voters, one that would allow its Voodoo Lounge, its full bar with 12 beers on tap, to sell alcohol on Sundays.

The measure failed 59 percent to 41 percent, according to final unofficial results from the Butler County Board of Elections.

A previous ballot measure was also voted down by township residents in 2016.

Three other liquor options were approved Tuesday by voters. They were:

• Froggy’s, 10 S. American Way in Monroe

• Casey’s General Store, 700 Wayne Madison Road in Trenton

• Fine Wine & Spirits, 9153 Cincinnati Columbus Road in West Chester Twp.
