The new 133,000-square-foot store Beckett Ridge Kroger Marketplace will replace a 72,000-square-foot Kroger at 8238 Princeton Glendale Road on the northeast corner Ohio 747 and Smith Road.
Kroger expects approximately 200 of its associates to transition to the new location, which will add 150 new employees by the end of its first year in operation, company officials said.
The new store on the southeast corner of Ohio 747 and Tylersville Road will feature fresh food, a fuel center, pharmacy drive-thru, Little Clinic, in-store bank, clothing and more.

Marteshia Placide, of West Chester Twp., said she believes the new store will likely mean the alleviation of shopping congestion inside the store and traffic congestion outside it. The fuel center, she said, is her favorite aspect of the new location.
“My primary concern is just the fact that if it don’t get leased out or rented out, it’s just going to be another building abandoned,” Placide said. “We don’t need empty spaces.”
Matthew McGowan, a Liberty Twp. resident, said he likes what Kroger is doing, and also mentioned looking forward to the new fuel center. He said he is fine with Kroger leaving its current shopping center.
“I’m sure it will rebound,” McGowan said. “I mean, it’s a growing area. Somebody will utilize this space … There’s all kinds of things this space could be used for. I think the way West Chester and Liberty Twp. are growing, somebody will find something to do with it.”

Darlene Sevier, of Liberty Twp., said she goes grocery shopping once a month and is more interested in the new Kroger having a fuel station than anything else.
“I don’t care if it’s larger,” she said.
Kroger has said it will market the existing store in the near future for sublease and that any potential users would be market driven.
Stores opening new locations in the 36-acre Crossings of Beckett shopping center include a 1,363-square-foot Super Cuts and a 3,627-square-foot Pet People, according to West Chester Twp. permit reports obtained by the Journal-News.
Super Cuts, which offers haircuts and hair services, has locations in Liberty Twp., Middletown, Mason, Deerfield Twp. and Maineville. Pet People, which offers natural foods and quality supplies for dogs and cats, already has locations in West Chester and Deerfield Twp.

Also on Kroger’s horizon for 2019 in Butler County is grand re-opening of a Middletown location at 3420 Towne Blvd. That’s expected to occur sometime in February, but no official date has been set.
A slew of changes are slated for that renovated store, including the addition of Kroger PickUp, new locations of Chicken Company, Pizza Company and pan-Asian destinations, plus a new produce department, new cheese shop, bakery, meat and seafood departments, as well as a new Dip apparel department.
Kroger also is working to bring a new Kroger to Ohio 4 near Kyles Station Road in Liberty Twp. It will be joined there by Shoppes at Kyles Station, a 13,800-square-foot strip center that developer Oberer Realty Services previously said will include a Kroger fueling station, PetValu, El Rancho Nuevo restaurant, Great Clips, Aura Nail & Spa and more.
Kroger has not yet provided a construction timeline for that project.
When the new location is completed, it will replace a 57,000-square-foot storefront that Kroger started leasing at 5420 Liberty-Fairfield Road in 1998.
