Helbig’s advice to potential employees? “Don’t wait to apply,” he said. “It’s competitive. A limited number of positions are available in several departments and those positions can fill up quickly.”
prior to applying, applicants should thoroughly read the job descriptions for the positions in which they might have interest, Helbig said.
“You’re competing with other applicants for a job at one of the top seasonal amusement parks in the world and need to bring your A-game to the interview,” he said.
The park generally offers one or two hiring events per month leading into the season, according to Kings Island spokesman Chad Showalter. The best way for applicants to learn about the upcoming hiring events is to visit hiring website www.kifun.jobs, Showalter said.

Applicants who live more than 25 miles from the park may apply to live in One Team Village, Kings Island’s new associate seasonal housing.
“If you’re interested in this, the best thing to do is apply for a position early because space is limited,” Showalter said.
What could working at Kings Island teach someone and how could it be beneficial to one’s career aspirations?
“In choosing to make Kings Island your employer of choice, you’ll develop these three essential and transferable skills,” Helbig said. “Communications skills, interpersonal skills and work ethic.”
Seasonal positions at Kings Island also have the potential to turn into more than just a summer job, he said. The majority of the park’s full-time year-round staff began their career as seasonal associates at Kings Island or other amusement parks.
Associate benefits include flexible schedules for students, teachers, parents, retirees and part-time job seekers, option to work as many or as few hours as desired, plus free seasonal admission to Kings Island and all Cedar Fair amusement and water parks, discounts on food and merchandise, associate-only ride nights, parties, picnics, field trips and events.
Employment perks also include complimentary guest tickets, discounts at local retailers and free entry for an associate and one guest to Holiday World, Ark Encounter/Creation Museum, Kentucky Kingdom, Kennywood, Indiana Beach and Dollywood.
The park also awards $50,000 in associate scholarships each year, Showalter said.
