Beyond Amazon: 4 more companies looking to hire in Butler County

Amazon announced this week it is undergoing hiring for hundreds of positions at its Monroe facility.

Beyond that big news, several area companies looking to hire have been featured in the Journal-News in recent weeks. Here’s a recap of those entities and what they are seeking.

Western States Machine Company

Fairfield-based Western States Machine Company is looking to increase its workforce by at least 10 percent.

The company is a worldwide supplier of a centrifuge, a device used by both the sugar and nonsugar industries to separate solids from liquids.

Western States fluctuates between the upper 50 to low 60 employees at its 80,000-square-foot facility at 625 Commerce Center Drive, according to Celia Cano-Ramón, the company’s human resources manager.

Available positions include two electrical engineers, a stockroom attendant, a production supervisor and a product manager. Entry level positions start at $15 an hour.

Wesley Community Services

Wesley Community Services is looking to hire six drivers, three for Meals on Wheels and three specialized transportation drivers.

Wesley Community Services is a local organization only, with full and part-time staff of approximately 85 people focused on delivering essential services that promote the independence of seniors so they may remain in the comfort of their own homes. Key programs include Meals on Wheels, Specialized Transportation, and Independent Living Assistance.

Headquartered in Cincinnati’s Lower Price Hill, Wesley Community Services provides services to seniors in 13 counties in Southwest Ohio to Northern Kentucky, including Butler, Clark, Greene, and Montgomery counties.

Since 2013, Wesley Community Service has been operating its Meals on Wheels program out of its Middletown facility at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 Marshall Road, Middletown.

Sysco

Also looking to hire is Sysco, the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, health care and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers who prepare meals away from home

The company’s family of products also includes equipment and supplies for the food service and hospitality industries.

Sysco employs more than 67,000 associates across the corporation and approximately 300 associates locally, out of its facility at 10510 Evendale Drive just off Interstate 75’s Evendale exit, according to human resources generalist Kristy Long.

The company offers a “competitive” compensation and benefits package, Long said. Starting rates for its highest volume jobs are $20.87 an hour for outbound warehouse selector and $22.50 an hour for a Class A CDL delivery driver.

Sysco also is looking to hire a diesel fleet technician.

Crothall Healthcare

Crothall Healthcare at Cincinnati Children’s, which provides all support services for Cincinnati Children’s, is looking to hire.

It has nearly 500 associates, 50 of whom are at the Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus at 7777 Yankee Road in Liberty Twp.Hiring is underway for floor technicians and housekeepers for second and third shifts, which start at $12.75 an hour.
