40 indicted in Butler, Warren counties

Grand juries, which meet in secret, review criminal charges brought by police and prosecutors and investigate possible criminal behavior. The proceedings are usually one-sided, the accused is not present and witnesses are not cross-examined.

A grand jury may issue an indictment if it finds probable cause that a crime was committed and the accused person is responsible. An indictment is an accusation that must then be proven in court. The grand jury may also elect to issue no indictment.

BUTLER COUNTY

Indictments returned during a recent session of the Butler County grand jury:

  • James Michael Franklin, 523 Ludlow St., Hamilton; indicted on one count each of possession of cocaine, and criminal trespass on the land or premises of a railroad company.

  • James Michael Franklin, 523 Ludlow St., Hamilton; certified back to the lower court on one count of driving under suspension.
  • Willie Lee Cotton Sr., 992 Boyle Road, Hamilton; certified back to the lower court on one count each of operating a vehicle under the influence, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
  • Nathaniel O'Dell Mitchell, 122 Stadia Drive, Franklin; indicted on one count each of receiving stolen property and driving under suspension.
  • Amanda J. Fugate, 4107 Roosevelt Blvd., Apt. 4, Middletown; indicted on two counts of possession of drugs, and one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of cocaine, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle under the influence, and speed limits.
  • Del'Rico Brazile, 1510 Bonita Drive, Apt. H, Middletown; indicted on one count each of possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, and aggravated possession of drugs (direct).
  • Melissa M. Cheek, c/o Blue Ash Care Center, 4900 Cooper Road, Cincinnati; indicted on one count each of possession of heroin, and possessing drug abuse instruments.
  • William Albright, 740 Gordon Smith, Apt. 6, Hamilton; indicted on one count each of tampering with evidence, and aggravated possession of drugs.
  • Sylvester McKinnon III, 161 Washington St., Hamilton; indicted on one count each of tampering with evidence, and possession of cocaine.
  • Bailey Maxine Nieman, 2900 Plymouth Ave., Middletown; indicted on one count each of grand theft, and receiving stolen property (direct).
  • Adam L. Summers, 8600 Acredale Drive, West Chester; indicted on two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence, and one count each of aggravated vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle under the influence of marijuana (direct), and failure to control.
  • Fenitra Long, 2966 Niagara St., Cincinnati; indicted on one count each of theft, and receiving stolen property (direct).
  • Michael Martin Steinmetz, 1825 Woodlane Ave., Middletown; certified back to the lower court on one count each of aggravated menacing (direct), and domestic violence.
  • Luke Brandon Gray, 7610 Whitehaven Court, West Chester; indicted on one count each of trafficking in cocaine, aggravated trafficking in drugs, possession of cocaine (direct), aggravated possession of drugs, and aggravated possession of drugs (direct).

  • Jaylon Hill, 1107 Kuntz, Middletown; indicted on one count each of robbery and grand theft (direct).
  • Dequean T. Warren, 401 Curtis Drive, Hamilton; indicted on two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor (direct) and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
  • Allen D. Brown, 222 S. Broad St., Apt. C, Middletown; indicted on three counts of endangering children (direct), and one count of endangering children.
  • Amber J. Grace, 10813 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison; indicted on two counts of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer (direct), and one count of escape (direct).
  • Francisca Highfield, 740 Welliver Drive, Hamilton; indicted on one count of deception to obtain a dangerous drug (direct).
  • Santana Jones, 323 S. 4th St., Hamilton; indicted on 12 counts of sexual battery (direct), six counts of rape (direct), and three counts of corrupting another with drugs (direct).
  • Cary Dillingham, 822 10th Ave., Middletown; indicted on three counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
  • Carlos Enrico Adams, 1151 N.W Washington Blvd., Apt. 19, Hamilton; indicted on three counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
  • John W. Morgan III, 886 Symmes Road, Fairfield; indicted on three counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
  • Joseph Matthew Davis, 20 Moore St., Middletown; indicted on one count of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
  • John E. Howard, 12001 Nelson Ledge Road, Garrettsville; indicted on four counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
  • Robert E. Lynn, 7240 Pippin Road, Cincinnati; indicted on two counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).
  • Jovon C. McCoy, 1839 Berkley Ave., Cincinnati; indicted on three counts of nonsupport of dependents (direct).

WARREN COUNTY

The Warren County grand jury returned these indictments during a recent session:

  • Jennifer R. Piatt, 6485 McVey Road, New Vienna; indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, falsification, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Justen R. Cullers, Warren County Jail; indicted on two counts of violating protection order.
  • Latesha J. Grays, 6619 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Franklin; indicted on one count each of possession of heroin; possession of cocaine; persons who may sell, purchase, distribute, or deliver dangerous drugs; and endangering children.
  • Daniel M. Cox, 531 Beach Drive, Franklin; indicted on one count each of improperly handling firearms in motor vehicle, carrying concealed weapons, and violating protection order.
  • Casey K. Burns, Warren County Jail; indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, and possession of cocaine.
  • Brandon D. Lively, Warren County Jail; indicted on one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of cocaine, operation while under the influence of alcohol or drug of abuse, possession of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Krystyna W. Kamp, 2434 St. Albans Ave., Cincinnati; indicted on one count each of possession of heroin, and operation while under the influence of alcohol or drug of abuse.
  • Robert L. Hayes, Warren County Jail; indicted on one count of aggravated robbery.
