Kroger’s acquisition of meal-kit company Home Chef is coming to fruition with the kits hitting shelves today.

The largest grocery provider in the region announced today that it will roll out meal kits at its family of stores in select locations. The kits will rotate on a weekly basis and are designed for preparation within 15 minutes.

“We are excited to introduce Home Chef’s new retail meal kits to our store customers,” said Robert Clark, Kroger’s senior vice president of merchandising. “Offering a rotating menu of recipes is one more way we are providing our customers with innovative culinary experiences and choices. The Home Chef meal kits will redefine the way customers shop for, prep, and cook their meals.”

Meals in Ohio markets include sirloin steak, Italian chicken, pork chops, enchiladas, tacos, meatballs and Alfredo.

Kroger finalized its merger with Home Chef in June, after first announcing plans to buy the company in May. The initial deal was $200 million, with future payments of up to $500 million, a statement from June said.

Meal kits have become a competitive industry, with fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A announcing plans to sell kits through its drive throughs and major companies like Chef’d, Sprig and Din shutting down.
