Henry Ford in Hamilton: Learn about factory history dating back to 1920

B. J. Miller from the Salty Dog Antique Car Museum and Ron’s Machine Shop in Shandon will present “Henry Ford in Hamilton,” at 10 a.m. Saturday, to the Morgan Twp. Historical Society in the Administration Building, 3141 Chapel Road, Okeana.

In 1920 Henry Ford and his son, Edsel, opened a factory in the city of Hamilton to build Ford tractors. Within six months after opening, the plant switched to making hundreds of automobile parts.

Miller’s presentation will cover the impact the company had on the entire Hamilton area, and includes information about how the property was utilized after it was sold in 1951. Samples of parts that are stamped “HAM” will be on display.
