He said thoe affected are in the area of Main Street, D Street, Park Avenue and E to B Streets.
“We believe the water source entered our medium pressure system which initially was showed up in our distribution (low pressure) system,” he said. “We are shutting down water mains in immediate vicinity to pinpoint the source.”
The plan is to work down Park Avenue from E to B, then close Main Street after Park Avenue has been completed and reopened to work from D to B down Main Street.
Residents who are staying at a warming center should contact the city to coordinate access into their homes/businesses by calling 513-785-7550, option 4.
About 30 customers on Hamilton’s West Side were without natural gas Friday.
Because Park Avenue is closed for the work, city officials are asking people driving through the city avoid the High/Main bridge. Instead, people should use the Columbia Bridge, which links Pershing Avenue to New London Road.
