Hamilton business plans to double workforce

A Hamilton business plans to double the number of workers it employs, creating at least 40 new jobs in the next three years.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved an estimated $108,000 worth of tax credits for ODW Logistics & Transportation Services, which has operated in Hamilton since 2009 and offers transportation management services.

In exchange, the Hamilton location will grow to 77 employees in the next three years. The growth is expected to amount to $2 million in new, yearly payroll. Currently, the company has annual payroll of $2.16 million, according to information from the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.

The company plans to expand office space and will also invest in new machinery and equipment.

ODW is headquartered in Columbus but operates a division out of office space owned by the city at 345 High Street in Hamilton.

“ODW is a great company and we are very happy they have chosen again to stay and grow in Hamilton,” said Jody Gunderson, City of Hamilton Economic Development Director, in the statement. “ODW offers quality opportunities for young professionals and we feel lucky to have them in downtown Hamilton.”

The state has offered the tax credit for five years, which is contingent on the ODW meeting the job creation projections.
