“Earning this ranking has been a team effort and we are gratified that the state recognizes that the programs serving our youngest pupils rank with the best,” said Franklin schools Superintendent Michael Sander.
The Step Up To Quality is a five–star quality rating and improvement system that administered by ODE and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The program recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed pre-school licensing and school age child care licensing health and safety regulations. The program standards are based on national research identifying standards which lead to improved outcomes for children.
Programs are rated on Learning and Development, Administrative and Leadership Practices, Staff Qualifications and Professional Development, and Family and Community Partnerships.
The Franklin preschool has been in operation for about 20 years. Classes are held Tuesday-Friday, with two morning and two afternoon classes. Each class has space for eight typical and eight special needs students. Several spaces are currently open for typical students; cost is $180 per month for a typical student.
