A woman formerly employed as an aide in the Talawanda School District was arrested Wednesday for allegedly endangering children, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and court records.

Keller is accused of knowingly abusing a child with a mental or physical disability, according to the complaint filed by Detective Eric Partin. The Dec. 12 incident happened at Bogan Elementary School.

The complaint states the incident was caught on camera and is part of the evidence.

Keller allegedly, “grabbed the victim multiple times by his face and neck area and pushed his head into the back of his wheelchair,” Partin wrote in the complaint. “(Keller) also pulled his left arm across his face and under his chin while applying pressure with both of her arms. (Keller) also flicked him in the face with her finger.”

The school district issued a statement stating a Bogan staff member was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations that the employee had made physical contact with a student. The employee was removed immediately and has had no further contact with students or staff.

The district was pursuing termination, but Keller resigned prior to the district’s scheduled disciplinary hearing, the district said.

“Talawanda does not condone the use of inappropriate or excessive student physical contact.” according to the district..
